I vaguely remember having to take cold showers everyday when I was in Costa Rica before. Is this still the norm? I was in a homestay then. |

Depends on the house. My apartment had a suicide shower so the water was electrically heated as it exited the shower head. Very common in Costa Rica as far as I know. |

Thanks for your reply. I'm just new to the forum thing. I'm learning as I go. Didn't mean to get my undies in a bunch! Happy travels!

I'm going there next year for a holiday, though don't want to teach there. I'm travelling my way up from Panama to Guatemala (maybe Mexico). Will be there in September. Might hang there for quite a while if weather isn't too hideous. Have a friend in Honduras.
From stints in Sth America, I'm used to cold showers or even 'suicide showers' where you light gas and turn it off when you're done. Even odd contraptions with a coat hanger.
Hot showers are fantastic luxury that I don't appreciate enough. |
