Hi all!

Is there anyone out there with anything POSITIVE to say about ADU? I've been made an offer which I'm considering. Btw, are salaries paid in $ or local currency? The offer quoted $'s.

Thanks!

Read the threads here already. If you can read them and even consider taking a job there... you have to be desperate or have a huge tolerance for chaos and mismanagement...

Yes... many times worse I'd say, but do go ahead and try it if you must.

The AED Dirham is pegged to the USD$ (means it doesn't fluctuate) although there are some speculators with USD right now. If it doesn't specify just says $X000 then it's probably AED - but why wouldn't you ask?

Definitely a place to avoid. I worked for them for 6 months (they actually give 6 months contracts because they know some people won't stay long.)
I gave it my best shot but the management is just too messed up. They are into making money not educating students. The good thing is that will hire people with a BA only so it you're looking for experience at university level, apply here. The experience will help you survive in other messed up places, if you can make it. So go for it, if you've got a BA but want to try survival teaching at its worst.

Well, IMHO, if you can't trust the word of someone with the moniker of "squareandfair"...who can you trust?!?

Management has changed and is brining in standards
teachers are now required to be at least CELTA qualified and there is an ongoing professional development programme. Teachers who were sub standard are being encouraged to improve or move
Contracts are no longer 6 months long
Salaries are being reviewed
