I'll be entering Japan on an a one way ticket. I'm planning on buying a one way ticket from Osaka to Seoul or Pusan as proof of an ongoing ticket (and canceling it when I reach japan). They gave me the option of a normal ticket or an e-ticket. Is an e-ticket good enough proof as proof of an onward ticket out of the country?

Thanks

Should be. Has been whenever I've used one, although the situation was always slightly different.

As with many things, it'll depend upon who you happen to strike at Immigration when you arrive and how they're feeling. Be prepared to explain and make sure you have a print-out of the ticket confirmation email etc.
