Like virtually everyone else around I'm giving the UAE a glance at maybe being my first overseas experience.

I am certified ESL in Texas and have worked with K-12 students and parents. I have 13 years working in education with the last five in administration as a guidance counselor/after school program director. My masters is in counseling and I'm working toward a PhD in Educational Technology.

Would I be able to find a job that would pay enough to pay my mortgage here and still save?

My husband and son would come with me (he's a newly certified teacher but not a native speaker of english-he's a Turk)

Thanks

With your K-12 certification and the rest of your credentials, I'd say you have a great chance in many schools. Your husband might even be employable despite his nationality, particularly if you apply together.

I don't know what your mortgage is, but I would say you could expect to earn at least 10,000 dirhams/month tax free (and I'm being conservative here...you might get a position of responsibility that would pay a good bit more), plus housing, plus furnishings or an allowance to furnish, plus education or education allowance for your son's schooling, plus annual airfare for all three of you...If the mortgage is all you're paying, I would guess that between you and your spouse you'd be able to save and still enjoy annual holidays.
