I'm in contact with Bright English Global Recruitment. The contract information they are offering seems okay. Can anyone give me information, good or bad, on this particular recuiter? Also, I am starting to apply for jobs that begin in the fall of 2004. Am I too early to be doing this? If so, when do you think is the best time to start searching for fall semester jobs? |

You have been around this board for many months. Most all recruiters are dangerous and liars. Their contracts often mean nothing. With the years of experience that you say you and your wife have, you can easily find a great job anywhere you choose to live in China. Look first for the place you want to live, then ask about which uni's are there. Most will hire for fall 2004 when they find out how many of their teachers will be leaving. That happens near the end of term two...or roughly late April-May.
There are some good summer camps that you can use to "get your feet wet". This past summer, I was in Hangzhou at the helen-tefl summer school. That would cure most people of wanting to live in Shanghai/Hangzhou. Too darn hot, but the pay and conditions at John Zhou,s camp are pretty good. |

I have read very many negative things about recuiters on the board in the last few months. I was asking about feedback about this particular recruiter--Bright Englsih. The conditions that he is offering are very similar to the conditions posted on Chinatefl for the various universities. He also promises that the contract will be sent by the university directly. So I would be signing with the university and not the recruiter. Does anyone out there have experience with Bright English. Thanks for your advice about timing. |
