				| Do they have a Chancellor and a Vice-Chancellor? This place has always tended to have dozens of layers of management with titles changing regularly... But, when I arrived I believe there was a Brit... quite quickly after my arrival we had an Australian up top and a sudden influx of Aussie teachers... he was replaced by an American just after I left, which presumes that there would have been a change from the minuscule number of Americans when I was there.
A rather predictable effect... I'm not sure what the person in that position did other than a few speeches and collect nearly my annual salary every month. But one thing that we can be sure of is that if the position is now Emirati, there aren't enough Emirati English teachers to go into the majority.

Which makes me wonder... are there any Emirati English teachers in the HCT system yet? I would hope that they are going into the schools first...

				| The current VC is of Iranian origin but I believe he holds an Emirati passport.
As for transferring within the HCT system. Word is, once in SWC or SMC you're there to stay or, if you request the transfer, you will quickly be found redundant. I've only known 2 or 3 people who've made it over the wall in 8 years.

That being said, they are crying for instructors system wide and he may be over ruled by Abu Dhabi should you put in a request for a transfer. Depends on whether you're willing to risk it.
