Hi there. This question is not ESL-related but you guys have been very helpful in the past and if it makes a difference, I am in Prague to do TEFL training. So here it goes...

I got here a couple days ago and I have been finding it extremely difficult to communicate with people. I know a few basic words and phrases in Czech but that is about it. I am going to be here for a month so I was hoping to get the 30-day pass for the Metro. I know you need to get a photo id for this pass but I cannot figure out where I am supposed to go to get this picture taken. I spent about 3 hours yesterday following instructions from 6 different people, which ultimately lead no where. Can someone help me?? It would be greatly appreciated!!

Go to Kotva at namiesti Republiky or Tesco at narodni Trida.
There are nice ladies in booths on the ground floors of both places who will swiftly make a set of photos for you.

I can confirm that - any passport pics will do, Tesco is a good place to go. Also you will need to fill out a form to get the first month's pass. Take it to Mustek Metro station - not every Metro station issues the first pass.

At some places it is possible to get non-Czech sized passport photos, so make sure you specify you would like Czech.
