I'm leaving at the end of the month for Manaus and getting nervous about teaching because I'm not sure what kind of students, or curriculum, or host family I am going to end up with. I'm wondering if anyone has ever been there or knows anything about the area. I'm looking to do some fishing and study jiu jitsu, will I have the extra time? I heard its a little warm there, what should i be expecting to have a hard time with?
This is my first time teaching a class so I am mostly worried about getting comfortable in the classroom, hopefully after the first three weeks?..
My only experience is taking the Caimbridge CELTA and I'm working hard on my Portuguese. |

Sounds like you have a lot of normal anxiety. You'll be fine.
Please keep us informed on Manaus.
I've taught in Brazil in the past, visited some places, but never made it to Manaus unfortunately. I'd love to hear about your experiences there. |
