no way. The highest recorded IQ is Marily Von Savant, the woman who does the newspaper column and her iq is 212. Goethes IQ was 180, Assimov`s 190. You are talking about people with IQ`s one out of 1 plus million at those levels.
my take is that bills IQ is about 140-45. He writes in his autobiography that there was a kid in his high school math class that came up with a different way of calculating the answer to a particularly difficult trig exercise some time before he did. The likelihood of the two of them having outstanding IQs in the same high school class is highly unlikely.
Also he writes and implies that Hillaries intellect was superior to his own. Remember the two were law students together at Yale Law. He attributes rather coyly her superior intellect to her ability to study better while he was off at the same time socializing with his friends.
My guess is that Bush no. 2's IQ is about 100-110, very normal and inadequate for leadership of the free world. Reagan`s IQ I would put at about 120-25, Mondales at 135-145, Dukakkis at 145-55, McKain at 135-45 and Bloomberg at 170.
I am usually pretty good at guessing peoples IQ`s and have occasionally done it as a joke with friends and acquaintances. The last time I did it I did it, I guessed 13 points off. Her IQ was actually 168. She also had the highest grade of all her fellow students in the PHD program of the systems analyst program at Georgia Tech.
At about 153, the Iq of a friend of mine in undergraduate school, there was no need to even open up the math book until the week before the exam. |

Never mind, feeble attempt at humor, please ignore.
On the subject of 'chente's book, he was talking to Riz Khan on Al Jazeera last night (repeated for a few days, if you are curious) about his book and the wonderful role Mexican workers play in the US economy. His English seems to have improved since I last saw him.
When asked who the book was written for, he said Americans (meaning EEUUs) and Mexicans who live in the US. When asked (via email by someone in New York) why Mexicans ask for a fair go in the US and Central Americans are tormented by the Mexicans (my favorite question for Mexico) he said the US has a demand for Mexican workers and a need for them. By omission I suppose it means Central Americans provide no useful service to Mexico, which should be filed on record if Calderon tries any overtures to those south of the border.
Fox also blamed US demand for drugs for the cross-border flow (fair comment) but then stated that the US drug market provides loads of money to bribe Mexican officials, i.e. the gringos are to blame for the corruption.
All in all he wasn't very inspiring, but I think it was more of a language thing than anyting else. Riz wasn't very tough on him, even when he avoided answering the difficult parts of questions. How does Fox stand up in Spanish these days, or is he largely irrelevant now>? |

His answer to the question on central americans isn't surprising. The reality is that Mexico does need the income from its workers in the US and anyone coming up from further south are in competition with Mexico. I didn't see the interview, but was any mention made of Plan Puebla-Panama? Under Fox, a lot of money has gone into the initiative to develop the region's infrastructure, include ports and transportation. Haven't heard much about it lately though.

That's a line just about every Mexican politician parrots. |

i figured there was a 'spark' of humor there
it's a tie :
Courtney (supposedly) was tested when she was 16, and tested at 160. her mom was tested at 150, and her dad at 131. her dad says he has a photographic memory, and so does Courtney.
Sylvester Stallone (supposedly) recently took the test and came out with 160.
the others?
Cindy Crawford - 140, valedictorian, 4.0GPA, full scholarship to NWestern
Offspring singer - 152, Almost finished Phd in molecular biology, 4.0 GPA, valadictorian
Abdul Jabaar - tested 145 when he was recruited for the Army
Brian May of Queen - has Phd in Physics, President of Liverpool College
** Note ** I just saw another article about the drummer from Rush, Neil Peart? supposedly (officially?) has been tested at 150 |

Read an article years ago stating that 25% of all highschool drop outs have an average IQ of 180 or higher. The article was stating that these kids were not challenged enough to keep there interest prolonged to finishing school. Just because someone doesn't have a degree or finish school doesn't mean one has a low IQ. Just thought I would add my 2 cents. Oh, and Albert Einstein(Think I spelled this right) couldn't even tie his shoe laces. |

I doubt it, and I doubt some of the figures mentioned on this thread. I think these figures are often exaggerated. I didn't go to university, but I think I have a pretty good "ability to reason" (the definition of intelligence). I've taken several (unofficial) test and seem to average around 138. According to my research that puts me well above the average university graduate. A very small %age have an IQ between 150-200. |

I was working at Notimex when this was announced, and translated several articles about it. It sounded too good to be true, and obviously it was. As I never heard anything later I thought it died as quickly as the ink on it dried. I'm surprised any money was actually spent at all. |

| Of course there are lots of centroamericanos in southern Chiapas, as there are illegal mexicanos in southernmost Texas, lowering the wage levels for unskilled labor. But do you see many centroamericanos in central or northern Mexico? |
