I worked there last year, and I'd be interested in hearing from new teachers that may be working there now how things have/n't changed. |

I heard it's a good school. Any bad experience you had there? Please share with us. I'd like to know everything about this school before applying for 2008/2009. Thanks in advance! |

Yes, Istek is a good school, but the main problem is controlling classes of rich, spoilt, Turkish students, many of whom don't want to be there, and many of whom show disrespect to foreign teachers.
I have heard that the management is trying to implement new 'rules' to curb student misbehaviour, but you can never be sure that anything will really be done. It is a bit of a lottery, because some classes, are ok, and others are difficult to manage. Toss a coin, to see who you will manage.
The English/Turkish lady who runs teacher recruitment, will listen to you, but at the end of the day, how you do is up to you.
On the bright side, some of the teacher at Istek have been there for a few years, so that shows not all is bad. They would be in the top category of Turkish schools.
