Paul

Basically you cannot leave unless you have the approval of your sponsor/employer. Well not legally anyway.

Hello posters!

Thanks for your feedback. My internet access has been very sporadic.

Yes,moved on quite quickly to somewhat greener pastures nearby, on my multiple exit/reentry visa. I still have the freedom to return to Saudi if I wish, to the same employer, house, situation etc. if I choose to do so,probably by the February, as I left for 'personal reasons'.

So, it seems I must decide if I will continue to stay here, or go back and continue to milk the cash cows. Pay is about 40 per cent lower here, complete with local teenage flasher outside my apartment the first day I moved in. Ah, the joys of more female freedom!

And, of course, I have no idea what will really be waiting for me if I return to the little pressure cooker of that department. Shame, because even though the place has had a dubious reputation for years, apparently this is one of the worst semesters ever there... and I experienced an unfortunate chain reaction of personal and professional events, which may be over now. So, while I am glad I am out to an extent, that place was probably the best choice in Saudi, and I must consider if I will get back on the cow or not.

Anyhow, talk to you later.

more relaxed than before,

serious girl

Dear seriousgirl,
Glad to hear that the pastures are at least "somewhat greener" and that you're "more relaxed."
But really, seriousgirl, you shouldn't take things too seriously.
I mean, it's all inshallah, right?
Regards,
John
