I'm in the UAE and I am trying to communicate with a colleague in BsAs by text message, but neither one of us can get through. When I sent a message to BsAs it came back undelivered after 22 minutes. I had pressed 00 54 911 **** ****. Her phone company is personal.com.ar. Mine is Etisalat. When she tried to text message me in the UAE, she pressed 00 971 50 *** ****...no good. We have no trouble making voice calls using the same numbers. What are we doing wrong? Is there some number to change or add for international text messages in or out of Argentina? I googled this topic and years ago there seems to have been a different number for text messages into Argentina. I lost that link, or I would try that number, but I think that is out of date anyway. Thanks in advance. |

I have a similar problem when trying to call my boyfriend (I'm living in Korea and he is in Bahia Blanca). No matter how many different ways I try dialing it always says his number doesn't exist. I also can't send him texts from my cell. We've managed to send each other text using Skype, but we can't call each other's cells from Skype. My only suggestion is to try using Skype, it's not as convenient, but it will go through. Hope this helps. |

don't dial 00 54, dial +54. if that's not the problem then check the number-mobiles start with 15 within argentina but you need to dial +54 9 and then replace the 15 with 11, then the rest of the number (although judging from your message you're already replacing the 15). if it still doesn't work then...welcome to the Argentine phone system-it's rubbish and unreliable. I never used to be able to text chilean phones but then, for some unknown reason, i could. |
