I am an international school teacher moving from Tianjin China to Kl. I have accepted a job with a school located in Ampang and will be starting in July. I just want to get a heads up on living arrangements as I may be in KL next month.

I'd like to live close to school (the Int School of Kl) within walking or easy biking distance if possible. Also, again if possible, I'd like to be not too far from some form of public transport into"the city". Simple but neat and clean 2 bedroom two bath apt is desired. Dont need all the push amenities but some comforts are of course desired. I have a nice housing allowance of a bit over 4,ooo RM but I'd like to bank part of it and get a cheaper apt.

So---can I find an apt to meet my hopes? If so what will it cost? Any other apt advice is also welcome. Look forward to being one of the (few) malaysian contributors.

Shoot, if I had a RM 4,000 housing allowance I'd be living in a palace. However, I imagine you won't get as much in Ampang as you would in Subang.
