Labour ministry rethinks rules on changing jobs
Dubai: Employees no longer need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer if they want to change jobs, once they have completed three years in a company, the Minister of Labour told Gulf News.
Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi said any person that has been with the same sponsor for more than three years does not need an NOC for shifting jobs.
"NOCs are not needed for employees who wish to change job upon completing three years, but the fees for transferring are still applied," said Al Ka'abi.

However, no ministerial decision has yet been issued in this regard, although the practice has been applied at the ministry of labour for the last four months.

They change their mind about this like they change their underwear. In 1998, teachers only needed to complete a contract (regardless of your level of education) in order to work with another. Since then, I tracked changes in the law no less than 4 times.
I believe some employers can put a clause into the contract about completing X # of years before moving on. I know one of my former employers required 2 years despite the law on the books.
At any rate, for someone gearing to change employers this could be great news. |

they recently changed the laws within the past month..
for our benifit..
Check the onlines news papers by doing a SEARCH for past /recent articles containing info on it.
I read that if one cancels their visa , then they may re enter ....no problems.
An employer can only now object with JUST CAUSE...and they have to apply to have you blocked ...thank god !
but never rely on what we say here.....verify it for yourself throught M.O.L.
