has anyone actually gone camping in indonesia?...west java to be more specific
i've only recently noticed the large amount of "campground" signs and advertisments in and around the puncak area ... due to this and a desire to do something different with my family on the weekends i purchased what i consider to be everything a camper would need....the whole family loves the stuff so we go to use it and find out that what is considered a "campground" is infact tailored to large group (min 30 pax) outbound adventures and my family and our equipment are not allowed there.
so anyway, has anyone ever actually been to a campground or know of any that actually cater to the weekend family camper???....in west java? |

Happy New Year to you and your family..
I know that in the past we have had some "verbal playing" on Dave's but hopefully that's in the past...
I actually don't have a reply for you about camp grounds rather I was wondering if you were still breeding dogs. I'm seriously thinking about getting a dog, preferably a German Shepherd (I had one in Canada for 12 years) if possible but I would consider another one...
Thanks,
Paul |

no pm needed......
due to a somewhat recent ammendment to some sub-article hidden somewhere in the anti-terror agreement signed between australia and indonesia, australia now supplies indo with the pre trained canines. this being said, i don't breed the shepherds anymore. but if you let me know the price range you were thinking of then i can send you in the right direction. not surprisingly, the breeding quality of many breeds here are low at best, however, there are many quality shepherd breeders in indonesia.... a registered pup fetches a high price here...... |

Plenty of camping spots around Singapore: Changi, East Coast Park etc - get on one of those cheap death trap Adam Air planes and hey presto! |

I know there are some camping grounds around the sukabumi area and also outside of Bandung, If i can find the details for you I'll let you know...
I've been camping a few times... down at Ujung Genteng towards pelabuan ratu. We camped on the beach and watched the turtles come into lay eggs at night. It used to be a 3 hour hike thru the jungle to get to that beach, but apparently now, much easier as they have created roads... kinda sad in a way...
Also have camped up in the moutains in the middle of the jungle, but that might not be too "fitting" for you and the kiddies...
Another place we camped was on one of the thousand Islands....I think it was called ...Untung Jawa Island... from here, we got a local fishing boat over to Pulau Rambut.. .which is a nature reserve and famous for people going "bird watching" - however I'm assuming you will have to get permission to enter.
Anyway... give me a few days..and I'll see if I can find the details.
Btw there are also a couple of companies, that can arrange "camping" for you... they can cater for small groups as well. |
