Hello, everybody! I've been working for Istek for some years now and I will tell you how it really goes... well... it's a serious institution, they pay on time, the lodgings are good, they are trying to improve on lots of things and they are dying to keep the foreign teachers, after all they spend a lot of money to bring them and I can only imagine how much money they have indeed lost on people who come, stay for a month, 2, a semester a year (luckly enough) and just say good-bye. But (there's always a "butt")... But or butt... yes, the kids are hell, at least most of them, if you have talent, patience and whatever it takes to put up with lots of discipline problems, bureaucracies like book signings, duties and 8 to 4 office hours, that's ok, the administration will respect you, they will take good care of you... all you have to do is to handle the little cute angels that they do try to control, but in the end, my friends, when the classroom door closes you're on your own and you're just one... just a sitting duck who most of the times doesn't speak the language and can't control the kids... but yes, some classes are good, depends on how lucky you are... prepare your throat for a lot of yelling and your heart for a lot of frustration... it's not about teaching, but babysitting (no matter the level, all are the same nursery school, high school... they're all disrespectful brats, the little ones are cute, though and some students ARE nice... but will you take your chances?). However I'd definetely give good points to the administration, principals, etc... this is the sheer truth from someone who knows it very well... and I'm still here for personal reasons... I need it for now, but I wouldn't say it's the most rewarding job on Earth...
