just wanted to get a feel for which countries people believe to be the best to live and work in in Latin America..

Im looking at
Columbia, Venezuela, Trini (fav)
& Brazil, Argentia..(next fav)

others??

Ewhat's Trini? Trinidad and Tabago? MIght be hard to find work there unless you're a qualified teachers, they speak English there.

Colombia sounds good,
Venezuela's been goign through turminoil for a while.

Brasil is also good, but does have high unemployment.
Argentina is good.

You're oging to be hard pressed for people to say which is the best, it all depends. Pay is bascially the same, 500 to 1000 USD, split shifts, private classes to supplement income, and maybe working a couple of jobs.

What's Trini?

Trinidad? You won't be able to teach much English, but they might be able to help you with your spelling (Argentia?)

Columbia? District of Columbia in the U.S.? Nice city, just don't cross the river. Anacostia is far more dangerous than most L.A. cities.

If you mean Colombia, check the new forum that just started.

Don't forget Mexico, Costa Rica, and Chile. All have fairly large ESL markets.

yeah no doubt about TRINIDAD..
hmm COLOMBIA is definitely a favourite..
ARGENTINA is probably one of the most 'developed' countries in the region, no?

who has worked in any of these countries:

Do a little research. Each of the countries you have listed has a seperate forum(sans VEN) with many great contributions that will guide you in your choice.

As for Trinidad, I don't have knowledge, but I would be skeptical about finding any employment outside of the tourist industry as that is the largest section of the island's economy. Since English is the language, you can pretty much rule out teaching unless your creds. are impeccable and Trinidad has an Internaitional school.
