|
|
Hi everyone
The open day at my school is fast approaching. the theme this year is 'English Games and Activities'. I have come up with some ideas:
1. Beat the teacher street. Ths contains three simple games (hangman, matching and blockbusters) that the children must traverse before they receive a prize.
2. Hangman (an oldie but a goodie).
3. Matching game.
4. Spelling
5. Quiz
We also want to include some chance games that relate to english but involve a bit of luck to win.
If anyone could provide any suggestions i would be eternally grateful.
Cheers

This is an Aussie activity you'd know well.
Get a hotplate, whatever passes for sausages in your county, a bag of sliced bread, a bottle of "dead horse" [tomato sauce/ketchup], and do a sausage sizzle. Charge one yuan a pop. Worked wonderfully well with Japanese. A game name? Maybe "hide the sausage". |

I know I have said this countless times before. But the flyswatter game is the best one I have used in the classroom. Its on Daves ESL idea cookbook. It never fails.
Good luck Carol |
