|
|
I read one negative thread about Al Ibdaa Private School in Muscat. Has the management in this place changed or is it still being micromanaged heavily as teachers have said? Anybody work at this school? What are your thoughts? I realize no school is perfect. The salary seems low at only 7000dhs/mth. I have 10 yrs. exp and a Masters in Ed. If you know anything I would appreciate it if you could inform me more on this school. Thanx. |

With your credentials, why are you applying at these dodgy schools that most people have never heard of?

Is there a particular reason why you want to work at this small private school for a relatively low wage? I understand that these kinds of smaller independent institutions are more attractive to some people for various reasons, and money isn't everything to everyone. I only ask because, as stated above, you could clearly get much better in Oman with an M.Ed + 10 years experience. In fact one would normally find, with that, that you could pretty much take your pick of locations and insitutions in the country (or region), and add a reasonable amount to the salary for good measure. |

if you are thinking about Oman as your destination, you can contact cecne but not bahwan as your recruiter to work at one of the technology colleges |

Watch out for the MEd, though. They used my MA as an excuse to put me --- with twenty years experience in English Departments in universities all over the Middle East, to put me on a lower grade than a number of others who have far less experience, and in some cases who hadn't even completed their MWhatevers yet, but who are better at selling themselves--- because mine wasn't in Tefling. So be ready to inflate your selling points, won't you; as many of us have found, it's what works in the Gulf. |
