Hi folks, writing on behalf of a friend who wants to come to Taiwan. He is 62, in good health, good shape, physically active, etc. and has college teaching experience, and would like to teach in Taiwan. What do you think? |

62 not too old.
I'm over 60 and so are several of my friends. We're in Hsinchu and most, but not all, of us teach adults.

Im in my mid 50's, and I know of a couple of other teachers here around my age, so the answer to your question is that work is available:) |

If he wants to teach at a college or university, there is a cutoff age, however. I think it may be 62. I have two friends who teach at a university who had to retire this year because they both reached 62. However, if you teach a more specialized subject (i.e. not English) I believe that the mandatory retirement age is higher. |
