Sasunn being England, Sasunnach is a native of said country. Of course centuries ago England didn't exist, so these words described the people from down south, be they Jutes, Angles, Saxons or whatever.
I've heard "Jute" used as a derogatory term for a Dundonian, a reference to the jute industry as opposed to immigrants from across the North Sea.
I was often called English when I was in Spain. I cured that by immediately calling the offender "Portuguese." Very effective. A bit like calling a Bavarian a Prussian, as a friend of mine did.
As for dmb confessing to being a blue nose... words fail me!
