|
|
Hey, where in Saigon can you buy big shoes -eg US size 13? I want something really compfy for teaching, so even foreign brands at foreign prices would be considered. Does anybody know? If I ask a motorbike taxi driver, he'll just take me to the same local markets with all their small Korean and chinese shoes etc...
Also, where's the best place to pick up a simple Englsh teaching wardrobe cheaply - 2 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, for the taller person? |

I have quite a hard time finding a size 12 US shoe around here. Suprisingly enough, I have found some in Hanoi and everywhere in Sapa. Too far north though. You may have to have someone order you something and have it shipped south or find someone to make them for you. I have had this done already, but they kill my feet if I wear them to work.
If you're only tall and don't have a beer tub hanging out front, I would suggest going to An Dong Market near Windsor plaza and once your around all the clothing shops, head right to the back of the place. One of the few places that I have found casual dress clothes for other teachers in town right off the shelf. There is always the tailor made route, but your looking to put down a little more money and some waiting time. I have the tub, so the clothes here have all been tailor made. There are some real good shops to get suits made. |

you can always go to the shoes store and ask them to make a CUSTOM shoe cater to your size, it's not expensive..but of course you going to have bargaining skills ..if they say they don't do it, then ask them do they know any place that does.. there's a lot of places in saigon... |

Custom cloths and shoes are inexpensive and easy to find. There were a few items that took a while. Custom jeans in Saigon took a while, but I finally found some. Pham Van Hai market has a very good seamstress who will make pretty much anything if you bring in something to copy. |
