I booked my plane ticket which arrives in Osaka on the 11th of february. I've just found out that its a national holiday (National Foundation Day). Will I run into any problems? |

Banks and government institutions won't be open. That's about all. |

Not really a problem unless you are running to a tight schedule that first day but public transport may be running a slightly lighter service. Public holidays really don't mean much here so you'll probably find it hard to believe that it really is one. |

Besides New Years, most holidays are the same as any other day. I recommend changing some money at the airport or before you arrive here. Post office ATMs in Japan will usually accept int'l debit cards, most other ATMs won't. |

I would think arrive my be better than leaving, especially if it is a heavy tourist season.
Otherwise, nothing is different, just that no banks and gov't offices are open. Change money at the airport or at home. |
