It's not hard to find a great teaching position in Bangkok if you know where to look and want to add a really good employer to your resume.

There are four major areas to explore:

1. Teaching at the National University of Singapore. Three year contract, housing paid (three bedroom, two bath, will all furnishings), 3,000 S'pore dollars moving in bonus, two months paid vacation, best pay in the small country, 15 class room hours to teach a week, two office hours a week, end of contract bonus equal to 30% of your earnings...matching funds that is, you put in 500 S'pore dollars per month and they will match it. Prepaid flight tickets and work permits provided.

2. Ministry of Defense. The Royal Thai Air Force and the Royal Thai Navy both has ESL/EFL units within their departments and they have between 23 to 30 native English speakers working for them. Work permits provided, help in housing, DLI training materials, 15 to 18 hours a week classroom teaching, two hours a week office hours. Vacation will depend on Air Force or Navy location...more perks than you can shake a stick at.

3. Hotel Industry in Bangkok. Each five star hotel in Bangkok has an ESL/EFL training unit within their Human Resources Department. One of the BEST groups to work for is the Dusit Thani Group of Hotels. I wrote and developed their training department for English Language training. They will help you find apartments and arrange to help with visa.

4. Thai Airways and Thai Airlines also are great places to look for ESL?EFL positions...each has its own ESL/EFL unit....I started the EFL unit for Bangkok Airways, which is another place to look.

I lived in a great modern apartment with air con. located in China Town near everywhere....about 4,500 B. a month, plus elect and water, has telephone in each unit and internet hook-up can be had in each unit...has own washing/drying company and great place to eat and maid service.

I lived and worked in Thailand, Lao, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei for 23 years...any questions you have, please write.
