TEFL allows you a passport to the world, so how many countries have you taught in? Including summer work.

I'm at two so far.
Spain, six months
China, 11 months

While in Uni I did some short term teaching in Venezuela, CHina, and Taiwan. And did my TEFL course in the Czech Republic, but they were so short, that they don't count.

The count is 2, as I've taught both Chinese and Thai students. However, in my practice groups for the CELTA course I taught a few Sri Lankans and Iraqis. I was quite impressed with the dedication and effort that the Sri Lankan students made in class. These were essentially refugees who were waiting in Thailand to later go to a Western country.

I'd like to increase the count to 5 countries eventually. Two more Asian countries and a Muslim country would be next on tap, that is if I ever leave Shanghai.

Eight countries in 11 years. In order:

- Greece (3 years)
- Croatia (1 year)
- England (1 year)
- Morocco (1 year)
- Poland (1 year)
- Lithuania (2 years)
- Serbia (1 year)
- Kyrgyzstan (so far, 4 months)

I've also done summer work in Finland (kids camp) and Bosnia (teacher training workshops)

I really must settle down at some point

Two. I did so some ESL volunteer work in Canada (that would make it three), but it didn't amount to much.

1 country (Turkey) for 11 years so far. 2 different schools.
I became an EFL teacher because I wanted to live in Turkey rather than the other way round. Glad to report I enjoy both teaching and living here!
