The mods here won't like us posting the links of other job sites, but I can say that being on these boards should give you an idea of who the "Big dogs" are in terms of employment in the region. You'd want to contact those employers starting in December before the August start. Almost all of them have online applications. Most of these employers want MA TESOL (or related) and at least 3 years of experience (preferably tertiary level). You'll probably want to post this question on the Middle East board, if you have not done so already.

MM... Bette doesn't have an MA. If she is interested in Oman, that leaves the Ministry jobs through the various recruiters there - who normally advertise here if they have openings. As I understand things are in a bit of a limbo with some of these recruiters at the moment because of their contracts with the ministry up for renewal.

To be honest, if I were you, Bette, I wouldn't limit my applications to the Middle East.

Ya thanks. I'm pretty much a free spirit and don't have my heart set on the ME. I plan on applying to all jobs I may have a chance at getting but I also think even though I don't have an MA if I have a couple more years experience teaching University levels that I would stand a better chance.
There is always tomorrow.
What do you think VS????

If you have 3+ teaching academic English in an IEP (especially writing or reading), that might help at SQU or maybe even HCT in the Emirates, but it all depends on number of applicants. You don't lose anything by applying... the worst they can do is say no or say nothing. Wink

The Oman ministry jobs are still your best chance. You should be able to google up some job ads for them as they advertise with all the usual suspects. One of them had an ad here not that long ago.

Sorry to disagree but it doesn't just leave the ministry jobs. Bette... i'll send you a personal message and give you a headsup on what is happening from someone who is actually here right now.
