It seems like there are more Canadians than any other nationality on this forum.
Am I correct? And if so, why so many Canadians?
Checked out Dave, seems like he's in California, so I'm assuming American.
Are Canadians more apt to move way south in N.A. because we are so cold up here?
Especially me, sitting in the great white north working on my practicum, finishing up my certification. As I run from the outside to the inside because it's a -44C wind chill I swear this is my last winter here.
And I mean it!!!! |

Interesting observation. Perhaps on this forum, but in day-to-day life when I meet foreigners here they tend to be American (mostly), British or Australian. I do not personally meet many Canadians.
At my job, out of the full time people there, I am the only Canadian. Everyone else is American, or Mexican. |

I tend to meet many more Americans than Canadians...in fact, more Brits than Canadians too.
However, we do seem to be over-represented on this forum. |

I hope this thread doesn't go on too long because personally I consider myself a citizen of the world.
If I knew for certain there was life on other planets or galaxies I'd likely consider myself a person of the universe.
I just thought there might be a reason other than happenstance for so many Canadians.
Why the flage? Perhaps it is because people around the world consider Canadians to be polite, generally nice people. Or Canadians have that misconception. Hence the flag sort of says - I'm from that nice country up north where in the middle country, where Oreen lives, it's damn cold. (O-kay the flag doesn't get quite that specific) -44C right now. Ya gotta envy me. Not!! |

I meet a lot of Canadians. Guess they must all be hanging out in SLP. And not the flag-sewing types either. Lots retire here, sell their property back home and buy something here. The government pension allows them to live quite comfortably and do a bit of teaching on the side. The younger generation flee the cold I imagine or are having a year out before uni. Some are here for the climate for medical reasons. |

Off the top of my head I can only think of 5 regulars in the Mexico forum who are Canadians.
There was a poll way back when. |

My parents were going to emigrate to Canada back in 1970, when I was 7 y-o, but after starting the process, changed their mind. I guess I could have been one too! |

Not worth it's own thread, but nor is this for the Canucks only...
Take a look skyward tonight, from 7:45 PM and on, for a full lunar eclipse.

More on the lunar eclipse:
For those in the DF, the UNAM is setting up an observation site at the Zcalo. There will be telescopes for the public to view the moon, and important scientists and academicians present. |

Just wait till you try and tell that to the CBSA and U.S. Homeland Security, after wintering abroad for a few years before reaching middle age or independently wealthy status.

I think it is as you suggested - a misconception that Canadians tend to share. If you ask people outside of Canada what they think about us, you're likely to get the answer "I don't". |

too true.
I find that shocks newly arrived Canadians. Leave Canada, and it ain't like the Heritage Minute told you. |
