I've been reading a lot of the conversations on teaching and moving to Vietnam and I was hoping to get a bit more of a heads up. I lived in China for a year and you were always given free accom as a perk. I also taught at Universities and Colleges. The life in China wasn't that good however and is why I would like to try Vietnam.
Where can I look to find jobs in Universities. Even if accom isn't included.
One more thing. Can you get by on speaking english to the locals? (Before you have an Vietnamese memorized)

Hey Bette

You could have a look at RMIT. They have been advertising a lot recently for staff. I don't think you get accommodation but I could be wrong, it's not common in Vietnam.
Don't worry about not speaking Vietnamese I managed to work and live there happily without learning any (I know shame on me). Everyone I came across in shops etc had some level of English.
Hope this helps.

Depends where you go, but I have found that lots of people can speak English, at least at a basic level. In Saigon, that is.
