Just dealing with the student loans, how much is that monthly? This may also determine where you want to live.

Well, unless the OP is going to defer his loans for a year, his choices are very limited. |

My student loans are currently deferred. I'm not sure on the exact monthly amount, but I think the payments will be about $400 to $500 monthly.

That would be half of your salary as an English teacher in most European countries.

The pay in Taiwan is around $1800-2000 US. Not to mention that you have to arrive with one or two months living expenses and you need to have money to pay a deposit for an apartmenr.

It sounds like you have a lot of debt. I would definitely recommend going to Korea then. It's the one country where you can be guaranteed of sizable savings each month. When I lived there, I was able to save from $1000-$1500 every month without doing privates since the apartment was free and food was cheap. If you decide you want to continue EFL, you can transition after a few years to the Middle East where the money is really big!
I also recommend you do volunteer work rather than an online cert. When you decide to do training go for the CELTA. It provides valuable training and is recognized throughout the world.
