I plead not guilty!
I may have gotten "50%" more than my employer bargained for in month 2, and based on the actual number of lessons given; but this was still more than 40% below what I HAD BARGAINED FOR & PROMISED TO BE GIVEN EVERY MONTH - even if that agreement was verbal only; the salary offered was 8000.
I accepted my job on the premise that I would be paid the same salary every month; that is what a "salary" is - a fixed amount that the employee can count on in exchange for his labour.
I need to know how much my monthly pay is since I have liabilities to think of.
Did I mislead them, or even steal that money? Daft idea! The difference can be accounted for by comparing my official timetable with the number of lessons conceded after some classes were cancelled without informing me.
If I was a businessman, I could take them to court for loss of profits; in this case I lost due and promised income. Am I supposed to shove some of my dues back to these miscreants just because I did not work a corresponding number of periods?
Maybe it was their way of showing contrition! |
