I would like to take this opportunity to warn all would be job applicants to the TQLS project here in Kuwait. Please do not subject yourself to the degrading activities that this company employess here in the middle east.
What you need to know about this company.
- they interview you, show you a contract, hire you, and after you have
quit the job you currently have to come here, they set in front of you a
totally different contract and basically expect you to sign on. The money isnt the same as promised, the living conditions are deplorable (their contracted flats) have rats and cockroaches, no air conditioning, worn out furniture, beds that are nothing more than a sheet of plywood with a matress and set on the floor.
- they have promised leave and when you ask for it they turn you down because they have no staff to cover for you.
-when a public holiday comes they wont inform you that you are allowed to take this holiday until a few days before thus leaving you stranded here because you cant get a flight out of here.
- they have hired staff promissing them one position but forcing them onto another and then never turning the promissed position over to you and hire others in behind you to take that exact position you were promissed.
- they expect you to finger print in and out of work, and condem you for leaving 2 minutes early yet you arrive everyday to work 1/2 hour before the expected check in time.
- their upper management hold meetings and talk about how they have contracts with their client that states how they are to do the work and then turn around and dishounor the contracts that they have written for their staff.
- when you get here you need to get photos for your civil id. they wont pay for that and expect you to do this on your own time.
- absolutly no medical insurance coverage for you.
- a big increase on the cost of living here has been experienced over the last few years in kuwait especially yet they will not consider that when asking for a wage increase.
- they wont invest in the current staff they have here. in short do not offer any upgraded training or programs to meet their needs either current or for the future.
these are only a few of my experiences, what the rest have to say would fill pages upon pages.
save yourself the grief. DO NOT apply for and work for this TQLS company. TQLS has been runing job adds every week for these positons here in Kuwait for better than a year now and cant find staff. its a small world when bad news becomes the standard as it has with this outfit. |

And... why is this a new thread? You couldn't just update one of the other two on the page right under it?
This place has had many names over the years, but the complaints have been pretty consistent.

Beware of being:
underpaid
undervalued
overworked
abused and used
exploited and cheated
lied to
exploited
harassed
This place has consistently gone downhill. Teachers don't stay long and are constantly job hunting. The only good thing is you get good experience in working long hours under pressure and learn good coping strategies.
A place to be avoided unless you are desperate.
They still don't get it. Treat your staff well and they stay with you, treat them badly and they do a runner. |

This is the first real negative info I have read on tqls besides the delays and asking teachers to be patient. Have I missed a whole group of negative threads on tqls? Can anyone else confirm all these things that were written? |

Heyjoe - there have been a number of negative threads about this company and they have let people go according to recent postings.
Watchdawg - no medical coverage is against the law as far as I know and they can be reported to the manpower ministry.
When I was in Kuwait (admittedly some years ago) they were very successful although most staff weren't happy - I hoped things had changed after the apology from the new manager (posted on this forum I believe). |

The problem is that this company has changed its name a number of times... likely to escape its negative reputation. There have been literally dozens of negative threads for the last few years.
