Thank you Linda T. and Samantha for the link and idea to check out the ITTO website. I hope after reading the link that ITTO is indeed affiliated with TEFL Institute. My course dates do not correspond to the ITTO course dates for Guadalajara, so I am betting that they are different entities. I guess I will have to cross my fingers and envision the best. The TEFL website is vague on specifics concerning accomodations and location of school. Hopefully, I did not jump the gun and hastliy enroll in a crap course.

Thats not very positive. I have heard other negatives about the individual connected to TEFL Institute now and the business he had prior.

What is the point in going through a "re-seller" or whatever the term is? Seems like more money, and hassle to me.

I think it's a mistake on ITTO's part to have this partnership, but, hey, that's business.

Two questions. Do you think it's possible that ITTO owners are unaware of the checkered past of this individual? It seems that ITTO has grown in leaps and bounds since it's inception, and has good internet presence, so why would they need to align themselves with this guy, given his track record?

It's possible they don't know. Like I said though, it's just business. It would be attractive to any course provider to have someone send you large numbers of people for the training course. GEC made similar promises to a number of reputable course providers in 2003 and many students and companies got shafted. I'm going to discuss all of this of course with Ti Ron Gibbs. I get the feeling he wants to meet with me to shut me up to some degree as I've been pretty vocal about his checkered past.

That just got me thinking that perhaps ITTO isn't the partner school in GDL. If they are, then the dates are probably incorrect on the TEFL Institute site. If they aren't, then TEFL Institute has a different partner there...perhaps VLC. I'm 100% sure they do not operate their own facilities in GDL. TEFL Institute is run by a single person from an apartment in Chicago....same apartment as GEC in 2003.

Well it seems Mr. Gibbs has come down with the flu and will not be coming to Mexico now until April. My report will be a little delayed.
