I'll be spending next week in Mexico City but do want to get out of town for at least one day, so I'm organizing a day trip to Cuernavaca for the Saturday of Semana Santa. If you're interested in coming, let me know on the forum, or you can send me a PM. |

That'll be a nice trip. Best to stay off the beaches, especially this year when Spring Break and Semana Santa lock horns.
I'm off to Valle de Bravo myself. Last year, I stayed in town to see the passion play in Iztapalapa, DF. Quite the spectacle. |

Spring Break and Semana Santa locking horns - quite the spectacle too, almost as good as a "corrida de toros"!
Have a great time in Valle de Bravo, one area relatively nearby that I've never visited. Don't forget to share any good photos you take while you're taking in the scenery. |

To add to the above chaos, don't forget Benito Juarez Day, which has been moved up from Friday, 21st March to Monday, 17th March, making this a long weekend and early launch into Semana Santa. Who is going to go back to work for a couple of days?? Kids out of school, first beach long weekend, Semana Santa, and yes, those crazy Spring Breakers who have actually been appearing since February. (Reading Week in Canada? Ha!). We are battening down the hatches and preparing for gridlock on the streets. Yikes. |

After reading Samantha's post, I'm very happy not to be going to the beach next week. I just hope there won't be any spring-breakers in Cuernavaca! |

Is there anything special happening in Cuernavaca that day? |
