Dear TEFL_Prague,
"I do disagree that all the best jobs in the Middle East require an MA in TESOL"
Or Applied Linguistics - but having taught in the Middle East for 20 years, I'm curious as to what "best jobs in the Middle East" don't require an MA.
There may be some; I'm just unaware of any.
Regards,
John |

Hi johnslat!
I've also been in and out of the Middle East for the past 15 years for both business and pleasure.
You r entitled to your opinion but all I am saying is that not all the top jobs require MA education level.
We reserve job info for our grads only.
Hezky den!/Lovely day!

Dear TEFL-Prague,
Sorry - your user name should have made it clear. I didn't realize you are part of a commercial establishment
"We reserve job info for our grads only."
Having no monetary interest in the matter myself, I can only say what my 20 years of experience in (rather than "in and out of") the Middle East has shown me to be the case.
However, I wish your grads all the best.
Regards,
John |

I have a B.A. in English lit and folklore studies. I have worked in the publishing industry and as a technical writer. |
Did you know that technical writing -- in English -- is now a thriving field in India, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, Russia, Romania, and elsewhere? Most of the people called "technical writers" in those countries have very little training for the job.
If you're willing to relocate to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Singapore, Tokyo, Manila, Leningrad, or Bucharest, you might be able to start a nice consulting business as a trainer in technical communication for IT companies.
Just a suggestion... |
