Hi could anybody please give me some info regarding the British School and the Multinational schools in Riyadh. We are moving over later this year and I have heard the British school is full in Year 6 and Year 10 (the years we are looking for) and that they seem to mostly only take British passport holders? Are there many non-british kids at the school? What happens to your child when they reach Year 12 and still have 1 more year of school to go? We have had experience of the british currciulum whilst we lived in Dubai a few years ago and know that they have a high standard of teaching. Have read about the Multinational school but would be interested in hearing from someone whose kids actually go (have been) to this school. We do not mind what curriculum the kids go to but for the high cost of fees we do want them to be receiving a good education but also to be happy in their surroundings. Many thanks for your advice

The vast majority of students at the British and American schools in Jeddah are neither British nor American.

What you have heard about the school only accepting British passport holders is false.

There is also an American school in Riyadh that you could check out.

As for what happens to students when they reach Year 12 in the British School and have 1 more year to go, well, they continue for 1 more year. What do you mean what happens?

If your children are going to do their higher education in the US, they could leave after Year 11 (IGCSE), or after Year 12, or Year 13. Typically, if they have finished Year 13, they could shorten their US college degree by upto a year by gaining some credits in lieu of the A-Levels (or IB). But, most US universities will accept students with IGCSE only. Some families do that to save money, as A-Levels/IB are terribly expensive.
