I want to teach in a city in Japan.

In May I will graduate from a State University in New York with a Masters in Childhood Education.

I have one year experience working with an ESL student in the United States.

How can I get the best job in Japan with my qualifications without going there first?

Thank you in advance.

www.jetprogramme.org

"best" is relative. This is the best available to you at the moment, IMO.

Best is relative, but for now, I don't mind other people's ideas of best! Wink

How long do you have to wait to be accepted into Jet?

JET application deadlines vary with the country you are from. Typically, deadline is December. Interviews are around February, and acceptance letters are sent in April or May. You might even be placed on alternate instead of being fully accepted, which means you have to wait until someone bails out to take their place.

Then, everyone flies over here at the same time -- late July or early August.

Go to the battlefield called Big Daikon www.bigdaikon.com for advice from the horse's mouth (or other orifice, considering some of the posters).

This will be too long of a wait for me. I was already getting that feeling when I started researching JET after your initial post. I want to leave between September and November of this year. What are options for this timetable?

Thank you
