I saw a job posting for some dispatch company a while ago and it said: high-level high school, 230k monthly, conversational Japanese (3-kyu) and MA-TESOL preferred. Is anyone with an MA-TESOL going to apply for this position?

I have never seen an adv for a dispatch co. req a MA!! (??) a very very rare case I imagine?, hardly the norm

That's just it, a higher salary doesn't make the teacher better, but it makes for better teachers applying for the job.

A teacher with qualifications and experience out the wazoo is not going to look at these low-wage jobs. Which is why you get less qualified/experienced teachers working there instead.

That's why I thought the position was so ludicrous. I don't know what the position is, or why they need the teacher to have XYZ. The bottom line is: they want a teacher with all that and offer such a meager salary. To them I say, good luck finding someone with those quals and get ready for your next round of backpacker interviewees.

Start with Interac this year, try to be as involved as you can, make your own lessons, then try for private dispatch ALT or direct hire next year. It's also better to start with SHS teaching if possible (JHS 2nd) as many private schools are SHS or JHS/SHS combined. ALT is a better way to start than eikaiwa.
