Have you thought of international government agencies, such as the Fulbright or Peace Corps. There are other programs such as that. The U.S. military has bases all over the world with schools at each and is always looking for teachers. The federal government lists all positions for which it has openings and you can find places to go. I recall several years ago seeing several positions in the Panama Canal for teaching. |
Yes, the Department of Defense Schools are all over and pay quite well.
However, Peace Corps doesn't take on families with children. There are lots of opportunities out there, though!
Congratulations, Trenter!!!! I always love to read / hear stories about people making the plunge like my husband and I did many years ago. We don't have kids, but our friends who do have no regrets bringing them overseas. All the best!!! |

Dear naturegirl.
I think this is what you wanted:
DoDEA's schools serve the children of military service members and Department of Defense civilian employees throughout the world. Children of enlisted military personnel represent 85 percent of the total enrollment in DoDEA schools. Today, DoDEA operates 222 public schools in 15 districts located in 13 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. All schools within DoDEA are fully accredited by U.S. accreditation agencies. Approximately 8,785 teachers serve DoDEA's 102,600 students.
