I've heard Baniyas described as a suburb of Abu Dhabi. How far is it from the centre of town? Is it truly a suburb (like what Mirdif is to Dubai) or is it out in the middle of no where? |

...middle of nowhere...but, don't say that to anyone from Bani Yas as they think that it's a megaopolis!

Middle of nowhere.
(But only about a 40 minute drive from AD I believe.) |

Takes 20 minutes in normal traffic - 25 in rush hour - there are four main roads into Abu Dhabi and from Baniyas + 15 km - you can choose which one to take - 30th, 2nd, 4th or 8th. 30th is by far the quickest for the Western side, 8th for the Eastern side - avoid 2nd and 4th on the way in. |

For Baniyas, think Khalifa City but more developed and 15 mins further away from AD proper. |

That doesn't sound that bad at all. At least if all you're doing is driving in and driving back. |
