I would caution anyone about going to work for Transworld, contractor, in the Bilgi prep year program. Not only are the incompetent Turkish teachers there acting like children, but the contractor is completely incompetent. I havent mentioned the students for good reason. Transworld is managed and owned by a completely corrupt woman from san Francisco and her equally incompetent associates. Youll be sorry if you go here.

I second that.

No its one and the same. Last year (that's 06-07) bilgi decided to outsource their Hz programm to an outfit from the states.

They run the show and get paid from Bilgi.
They pay the teachers from the U.S. It's all a little dark and not really up front. I started working with them and then I jumped ship.
It looked weird and sounded wrong.
Please think about it befor you sign on Exclamation

hmm... can you elaborate on the part about "a completely corrupt woman from san Francisco"? I'm considering doing my TESOL training through Transworld in San Francisco and she's probably the director - would you have any cautions in that respect? They have great reviews from the TEFL student perspective, and she seemed very genuine and professional when I spoke to her by phone...

Only because this has popped up at the top of the forum again, I want to make sure that casual observers know that Transworld is NO LONGER running Bilgi's prep program. Thank God.

That lady in San Fran offered me a job at Bilgi a few years back. She quoted a salary in dollars. It sounded nice, so I asked if it was gross or net. She replied 'I don't know. That depends on whether I can pay you out of a Swiss bank account.' I ran like hell.
