I have a Msc in engineering and 4 years of teaching experience.
Thank you all. |

I would think any where between 10-12,000 dirhams a month is my estimate based upon what I have read in other posts. |

How can you apply for a job and have an interview and not know the likely salary? You should've asked at the interview! |

well, the interviewers were all faculty and all they talked about was the science i'll be teaching, they said nothing about the benefits nor the salary I guess that's what he ment by " the HR will contact you to arrange the offer letter ". |

I also thought it a bit strange that salary wasn't mentioned, however I guess you will soon know what the offer is in the forthcoming offer letter.
I assume the OP wanted an indication as to what was considered a decent salary before hand. |

I would think that the salary should be higher than that in light of the 25% raise just given at UAEU...so maybe more like 12-15,000 or possibly higher. |

Well, thank you so much 773, this is the round figuer I was thinkig about. I really wish they offer me somthing like that. Anyway, I'll inform you all once I get the offer , incase I needed further help, as i never been interviewed nor worked in the gulf before. Since I graduated, I was automatically hired by my university so never had the chance to choose or bargain for salary . |

When I was VC interviewed by HCT I was not told what my salary was, BUT they (HR) knew what I wanted as a ballpark figure. I did get more salary (as a new-hire) than many new-hires, but in hindsight that was probably due to my experience and training, and training..
It is hard to say what your exact pay will be, and here in the UAE it is pretty well impossible for interviewers to tell you because HR keeps such data close to their chest(s) and it is their turf - not the turf of the interviewers who seem to check out if you are technically capable in a pseudo face-to-face interview... |

If you are teaching content, not English, it will probably put you on a different payscale from the UGRU one. What's the position though? Normally expat hires for the faculties need a PhD and then get to be asst or associate professor. Instructor posts, also called Teaching Assistants, tend to be reserved for Emiratis who then get funded to do a PhD.
I think you will be looking at 15000 dhs a month minimum. |
