I want to buy some webcams in Shanghai (cheaper than back home) but would they be compatible with British computers? I'd like to give them to friends and family for MSN chats...
cheers

Cool

I bought a Logitech Webcam in China for 240rmb.

It works on the school provided Chinese Legend computer as well as my laptop computer.

It is a Targa Brand ( German ) manufactured in Taiwan and purchased in Australia.

If it has the standard plug in, regardless of a bunch of Chinese names attached, it will run on you system.

Remember that the Chinese use western software, it has to be written in standard software languages, such as C++ and so on.

It isn't so much whether the webcam will work, it is more a question about POWER!

China runs on 220, whereas US and Canada is wired for 110. So if you buy something here that needs real "juice" to run, then you are probably out of luck. But a webcam runs strictly by plug and play, so no worries! Only problem is, you probably can't read the instructions.

Good luck
Edward
