Glad to see that you guys are having fun... BUT
that seems to be the list of recruiters interviewing at the conference. You can't open any of the job contact information without being a member. I tried clicking on a few and got nothing.

Dear veiledsentiments,
That's strange - because it works for me and I'm not a member:
IPA (Institute of Public Administration)
Teach four levels in an intensive English program. At each level, five subject areas are taught: grammar, reading, writing, oral, and listening. The ELC's academic year is divided into four 8-week sessions. The first two levels are general English while the last two involve ESP material. Teaching load: 22 hours per week with optional overload (@$33/hour).
Free furnished housing for both family and single status.
Paid summer vacation (45 days) with return tickets; Ramadan and Hajj vacations during the teaching year; mid-year one-week vacation;
Subsidy for children's education at international schools.
Private offices with personal computers and internet access.
NOTES: 20 openings. International Candidates Will Be Considered. Employer will assist with relocation costs. $31,008 is a starting salary for a candidate with no experience. $42,208 is a starting salary for a candidate with 10 years of teaching experience. Teachers are paid $33 per every extra hour (beyond the 22 contracted hours) per week.

Regards,
John |

I can read the information, but I can't get to any contact information. You might be able to pick up a website, but not all employers take applications through their websites yet.
It could just be the ones I chose... and if you notice, there is a place to put in your name and password.

I think I see what you mean VS. Somey of the schools have their contact info embedded in the postings and other's (mostly American schools/unis) require one to send in one's information by clicking on "Apply for this job". Also, many schools have links to their homepages where one can apply.
I created a password in two minutes and entered my new login and on the 3rd minute, I was read to apply for all the jobs.
One sends one's personal information and a resume if desired directly through the TESOL website to a potential employer. It's brilliant actually. It saves everyone concerned time because some of the questions in one's profile are filterers (MA? American? Fulltime? Salary expected? etc, etc.).
The employer screens the presumably filtered resume applications to see if they would like to act on a particular applicant.
It functions the same as TESOL-Arabia. We hand in our resumes to the gals at the conference and wait to see if they would like to see us for an interview. With this TESOL organization, they allow pre-screening before attending the conference and can presumably set up interviews in advance with applicants.

Which GOD do you believe in?
Men's death I tell by doleful knell;
Lightning and thunder I break asunder;
On Sabbath all to church I call;
The sleepy head I rouse from bed;
The tempest's rage I do assuage;
When cometh harm, I sound alarm.
If the 'Athaan' is disturbing you, just buy a pair of ear-plugs, and you will sleep in peace and harmony.
May GOD protect you from the devil of cannons! |

Windstar! Don't let 007 get YOU wound up! That's his/her game...I ignore these kinds of posts. As, I don't think, they don't rise to the level or response.

Yes, please... don't feed the resident hijacker troll... let him crawl back under the bridge. We have had more than enough of his GAWD lectures...

That rather confirms that this job page may be related to the conference only. We will have to check afterwards and see if 6 months from now there is still a job site for non-members of TESOL.
It appears that some employers will be there to interview while others will just collect CVs. That was the way it was done in the past... not that I have ever applied for a job through any convention like this. But, I have helped out some of the employers in the past.

Back to the thread: I've been using the TESOL site off and on for years. It is not just a listing of those who are interviewing at the conference. If you click on Job Seekers, then click on View All Jobs, you will find a great listing of jobs. As you scroll down, you will see on the left side that some have a red logo that says "marketplace" - those are the institutions that will be interviewing at TESOL.
This is one of those very convenient sites that allows you to file a CV and sends it automatically when you indicate that you are interested in a job. |

I have not been to TESOL stateside but have visited TESOL Arabia. As I said in one of my other posts if you can't get a job at TESOL Arabia then you should be looking for another career.
IATEFL conference in UK is not so good for employment. |

Thanks for the info Mia. I was hoping that someone would show up who had used the site lately. I hadn't visited the site since I let my membership lapse some years back and you couldn't get into the job section without being a member. I will certainly refer people to it now - especially those looking in the US.
I like the format... other than the fact that most don't list anything about pay... as usual...
