Greetings, my fellow Davesers. Cool

Please bear with me while I get a bit personal...

Although you are not aware of it, I have been loathe to post on Dave's ESL Cafe lately due to some personal issues - more to the point: someone has personal issues what what I post here. However, I've decided that it is high time I reclaim my right to post. I consider myself a feminist and yet lately, I haven't been acting like one. I have allowed myself to feel guilty and ashamed and all the while I have done nothing wrong.

Allow me to tell you all why I enjoy this site. I have an interesting job that I love but that most people here don't quite "get". I find myself wanting to discuss different aspects of my job - and life in general - and this site provides a lot of opportunities to share stories and ideas with like-minded individuals...something I lack in my everyday life. I feel at home here. It's a harmless pastime for me. Posting on Dave's takes nothing away from my life or my daughter's.

I do not come here to meet men. I do not come here to set up dates. I have actually only met one person from this site thus far and that was a (very nice) female member. Perhaps someday I will have a chance to meet more members - male and female - not because I want to have a relationship with anyone here, but because I find many of you to be interesting folks and I think it would be fun to meet and chat face-to-face.

The next time I receive an email about what I post on this site, I am going to copy and paste it into a thread here.

That's it, I'm done. I'm off to prepare for my tutorial. Chat with you all soon!

And here I was thinking you were only AWOL for the holidays. I'm sorry to hear that some fool gave you grief, but I'm very glad to know that you decided not to let him/her/it drive you off. I'm inclined to agree with Gordon on revealing the name -- heck, post the original offensive PM now if you've got it.

As for Heather...I don't know -- the other avatar was rather "Heatheresque."
