Does anyone have any info about this school / company? I'm looking at them for CELTA in Seville but from what I can tell searching Seville's YellowPages, in both English and Spanish, there is no school under that name. However IH has CELTA classes starting the same day. Is it common to offer certs with another organization? I really want to go to Seville and this company seems to have good references with the Internet BBB and the Denver BBB (their home base) but ....??? Any comments will be appreciated!!

I took Spanish classes and volunteered for this program in Buenos Aires in Argentina. The classes were pretty good for the most part. I spent 5 weeks in class and went from knowing no Spanish to being semi-conversational. The problem with the classes is, although they were small they couldn't always fit the right skill levels together. This caused some students to have to wait for other slower students to catch up.
The volunteering program is another story. Highly unorganized, basically no support from the director of the program. They placed me into 2 separate volunteer locations at the same time instead of letting me focus my time and energy into one. In one of the programs I couldn't do anything for a few weeks because I didn't speak enough Spanish to communicate with the people. My fellow volunteers didn't have the best comments either.
Overall, I feel it is a reputable corporation but they are probably more concerned with taking your money than giving you a good experience. I don't know if this helps with what you're doing but I though I'd post anyways. Good luck! |

How can a company that puts profits way above offering its clients a good experience be considered "reputable"? |

First off, I said they are "probably" more concerned with profits than with their students. I'm not exactly sure if that's true, but that was my feeling.
Secondly, maybe reputable was the wrong word to use since it defines something having good morals. A "legit company" would have been better suited in my post. Regardless, people still may think a company is reputable even if it is profit driven above all else. Look at Wal-Mart, that company has plenty of loyal customers who will support it till the day they die. Fact is, Wal-Mart will put profits above all else, even it's employees, without thinking twice.
Lastly, I never said they put profits "way above" services to clients. Again, I said they are "probably" more concerned with profits. If you're going to quote me, at least try not to distort the quote when you're paraphrasing it. |
