Never forget that your countries or dominions or whatever the hell they might be these days have Embassies and Consulates here in China. Unless you are American as I am, your Embassy/Consulate staff is technically here to serve and protect you. (Americans get to listen to recordings, and not much else...)
If you are ever in a jam like this, your national Corps Diplomatique should be the FIRST people you call.
