Thanks for that. I was looking for it for International Travel insurance. A recent article in the Arab News was plugging this company as a provider of reasonably priced insurance for travellers. Will go and check them out. On the website it does seem a good deal.
I have just phoned them. Very quick respose. They are next to Tamimi Supermarket on the Corniche in Khobar.
250 Riyals for a months travel insurance in Europe. |

On a related point, the local 'Arab News' ran a story the other day that with immediate effect Iqamas will only be issued if employers can prove that they have Health Insurance for employees. This does not apply to government employees but does in the private sector.
I worked for a while in the 1990's for an outfit in Jeddah where the employer doid not think it important to provide health cover. Are those days now over ?
Employees in government institutions are entitled to health care in governemenet hospitals. I contribute to a group health plan through our employer. It IS worth the money although of course the cheapskates in our midst will not shell out the monthly premiums.

Come now, Scot, you've been in the Kingdom long enough to know just how accurate Arab Snooze stories about 'new legislation' being enacted 'with immediate effect' usually turn out to be. |

Its approaching that time (summer vacation) again! Im wondering if the above company is a reputable one for their international travel medical insurance. Were planning to travel back to the U.S., if this helps, in choosing the right company. Also, I noticed that their web address has changed to: http://tawuniya.com.sa. Should I be worried?

The NCCI is reputable enough. Travel agents such as Kanoo travel also provide travel insurance. How far either will go towards meeting American medical bills I don't know. Both require you to pay in advance and then claim reimbursement. |
