I do not think so He can do that!
Because He knows very well that He will be deported to Bahrain! |

If BAe chose to engage predominantly British I can't see what's the big deal. I have seen numerous EFL jobs advertised for North American citizens exclusively. Are pots crying at kettles?

Wow! looks like my stock has risen. Have I now been elevated to God status? What's with the capital Hs 007?
Scot47,
nobody said BAE cadets are unteachable. As usual, you have blown things out of proportion.
Yes the quote was from Scot47 and so mea culpa. But let's be honest - in the grand scheme of things there's little to chose between them on this board. Both have strong opinions that are rarely supported by any objective facts.

THe Royal Saudi Air Force doesn't want to employ anybody over the age of 55. Nor can you continue working with them after you are 60. |

Yes, Scot47, although you make it all sound so innocent. In fact, it seems to me that you focus on little else these days and your comments are always so negative which is odd given you've never actually worked there.
Just why is it you have such a negative view of this company anyway? You have never actually explained this. Do you think other companies in KSA are really that much better?

Yes, but don't forget that I'm now a god with the pronoun 'He', so you should show due deference when you address me!
Actually, this is the fourth continent I've worked as a teacher, so I feel qualified to speak about my experiences with a degree of authority. (Asia, (2 countries), Africa, Europe, and now the ME)
Unlike you however, I have always kept an open mind and wouldn't dream of slagging off a company I (a) never worked for and therefore wouldn't base my judgements on (b) nothing more than hearsay and anecdotal evidence (unlike you).
I sense the bitterness from you in every post on this topic and would love to know what BAE did to make you so sour in you appraisals of it. Care to spill the beans old chap?

I wonder how many of my 5000-plus post are about BAe. A very small percentage.
Maybe Balzac is now finding all is not rosy in the armed encampment where he has sold his soul to Mephistopheles ?
Does he hanker after the fleshpots of Thailand ? Or does he console himself with the comfort women bussed in on Wednesdays ? |

Dear Balzac,
"Actually, this is the fourth continent I've worked as a teacher, so I feel qualified to speak about my experiences with a degree of authority. (Asia, (2 countries), Africa, Europe, and now the ME)"
I've always been under the impression that the Middle East is in Asia.

Balzac raises an important point.
I worked for BAE for two years. Balzac himself is currently employed by the company.
Both of us are positive about the experience.
Scott 47, by contast, has never worked for BAE Systems in his life. Even if "A very small percentage" of his posts are about BAE systems, why should anyone bother to read them? All we ever get from Scott is a grossly distorted version of the reality, and Balzac is right to question whether Scxott has some sort of hidden agenda.
"Maybe Balzac is finding that all mis not rosy in the armed encampment" sounds like wish projection to me. Any which "armed encampment" would that be, Scott? Is it the one that backs directly onto the KFUPM campus?
"where he has sold his soul to Mephistopheles" - a bit dramatic, surely? THe Saudi government has a contract with BAE. Bae pay Balzac. Scott gets his money directly from the Saudi government. Is there really a lot of difference here?
