ADSL broadband concnection is becoming more widely available here in W. Siberia - takes a few days to get a line fixed and not that cheap (costs me about USD 150 a month right now for unlimited use but that price should go down in time) but the service is fine and comparable to any broadband service you'd get in the West or the Gulf. |
Ouch, that's expensive. I'm in Novosibirsk and I pay about USD 60 a month for unlimited use, 1mb speed. Really nice speed for downloading and quite reliable. Have you asked around for options? I had a more expensive company before, but new ones are opening all the time and I just made the switch. |

Here in Novosibirsk it varies by building. In most places DSL is available, but if the building doesn't already have the infrastructure it can be hard to get. We called more than ten companies and none could hook us up unless we found several other subscribers or paid a ton of money for installation. So we're stuck with 56k. But my friend just across the street gets unlimited 512...Russia for you I guess |
