Caladonian (I may have spelled that wrong.)
What are the advantages and disadvantages of working there? |

Strange that there are no responses on the Caledonian College of Engineering in Oman.
I suspect that they do not need ESL teachers. It seems to be a premier institution with affiliation to the Glasgow Caledonian Univ.
However, any inf. from any teachers (technical or otherwise) is welcome, though I suspect that the salary there is so high that teachers do not want to jeopardise their positions by posting here. I also suspect that that they have been cautioned about not doing so.
Also, most students there are likely to be fluent in English, whether Omani or otherwise. |

I havent worked at Caledonian but I have heard from ppl who do or have worked there that the salaries are about average, sometimes a lil lower sometimes a lil higher than average.
They have the regular rate of staff turnover and set very high standards for their faculty. The students are the same as anywhere else in Oman, certainly not any better than at the other pvt colleges.
Sorry, thats all I know. ( I did hear a rumour that they were not allowed to post or make public comments on the college....perhaps just a rumour)
And they are hiring ESL teachers for nxt year |
